HELP US SPREAD THE WECHT INTERVIEW
Have you had a chance yet to watch the interview with forensics expert Dr. Cyril Wecht? If not, we urge you to take in this compelling —in fact, riveting— explanation of why the time-of-death evidence makes it impossible for Dennis Dechaine to have committed the crime for which he has been imprisoned for more than 27 years.
You can watch the interview with Dr. Wecht on the homepage of our website at www.trialanderrordennis.org. We have set it up so that viewers can watch the clip entirely on the homepage, then scroll down below the video box and open links to watch or read interviews with Dennis, Court TV’s feature on the case, former AG Jon Lund’s letter calling for a retrial, and more. On the right-hand side of the page is information on how to download a Kindle version of Jim Moore’s book Human Sacrifice: on the Altar of Injustice and how to donate to Trial and Error.
Dr. Wecht’s interview, which is also available on YouTube, is already making an impact. In its January 17th edition, the Maine Sunday Telegram featured a story about why T&E continues to pursue a retrial for Dennis. You can read it online at http://www.pressherald.com/2016/01/17/even-27-years-later-dechaine-supporters-try-for-new-trial/. The article refers to the interview and also includes information about filmmaker Richard Searls, who shot the footage of Dr. Wecht, and the documentary he is producing about the case.
Help us get it out there
Whether or not we agree with everything in the article, it provides us with the opportunity to keep the conversation about Dennis’s case alive in the public consciousness. So, of course, does Dr. Wecht’s interview. You yourself can make a big difference by responding to the interview and the article with online comments and letters to the editor of the Portland Press Herald and other papers. Please also share the interview with your family, friends, legislators, and local and national news outlets. If you’re adept with social media, please post it on Facebook and the like.
